CVS

Chester-le-Street & District Council for Voluntary Service and Volunteer Bureau was established in 1998 to provide the underpinning support that will enable the sustainability and development of voluntary and community organisations who work for the benefit of Chester-le-Street District.
The Organisation holds a number of Quality Awards, in particular from NAVCA (National Association for Voluntary and Community Action) and Volunteering England which demonstrates our competence against the core functions of a CVS and Volunteer Bureau.
Chester-le-Street & District CVS and Volunteer Bureau provides support to voluntary and community groups, so that they can;
- provide quality services for their clients
- be an independent voice on behalf of their client groups, especially those who are disadvantaged
- be informed and confident participants in local partnerships
- help their volunteers and paid workers make a real difference in their communities.
